ISO 2411适合应用于下列材料：天然橡胶涂覆织物、合成橡胶和塑料。这种测试方法是用来研究在干燥或潮湿的条件下，涂层织物的涂层粘合强度。通过以指定的速度将材料各层拉离开，可以判断材料的最大、最小和平均的粘接强度。
原则上，有两套测试试样：根据标准一套测试材料的经向，另一套测试材料的纬向。试样的自由端夹紧并被拉伸；这将会分离出试样在恒定速率下给定长度的那一层。测试结果是施加的力的平均值。对于此测试，与PC间的试验数据采样频率高达100Hz，以确保捕获和记录下所有的峰值和谷值。
对于此测试，采用橡胶包覆夹面的 气动夹具 将材料夹紧在 拉伸试验机 上。尽管也可以使用手动夹具，但是由于使用方便、效率高和更好的可重复性，使用者更喜欢气动夹具。气动夹具可以设定夹紧力的大小，而手动夹具的夹紧力大小取决于操作者的力量（可重复性差）。我们发现在这些测试中夹紧力和试样的对中非常重要。太大的压力可以导致过早的断裂，而没有足够的夹持力可能会导致试样在钳口或者靠近钳口的地方打滑或者断裂。我们还建议选择比试样至少宽10毫米，高25毫米(也可以更高)的夹紧面。
我们建议使用 单柱 或 双立柱台式 拉伸试验机。如Bluehill(R) 2等材料测试软件是理想的工具可以输入试样详细信息、设定所需的测试控制、自动计算出所需的结果和统计，并得出完全符合标准的测试报告。针对此测试的类型，测试之前夹紧夹具时，我们使用Bluehill的预加载功能来消除试样的松弛现象。
建议再次学习ISO2411，以便在进行测试之前充分认识测试设备和结果要求。
